Meet Maria, one of the original writers for Inkpot, the editor, and the Words and Watercolor columnist!
She’s a 17-year-old in 12th grade with a definite tendency toward liberal arts planning on either an English or Communications major. Her Words and Watercolor column this year will combine two of her hobbies: writing and art. You’ll probably find her name signed to Inkpot stories and illustrations. For more of her work, check out her blog, A Writer in Training. Besides writing and art, her hobbies include reading, crocheting, photography, and gluten-free baking.
An ENFJ, Maria would summarize herself as “confident, caring, creative,” with a love for extra-dark chocolate and for tea over coffee. Her ultimate superpower would be gravity manipulation. J. R. R. Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, Brandon Sanderson, Andrew Peterson, and classic authors such as Charles Dickens and Jane Austen number among her favorite authors. Her favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 43:1-2. “It perfectly sums up the redemptive aspect of the gospel, and reminds me both of God’s love for me and His perfect purpose.”
Keep an eye out for Maria’s column Words and Watercolor in further issues of Inkpot!
“A storyteller’s purpose is not to tell people what to think, but to give them questions to think upon.” -Brandon Sanderson
